With one center and several injuries, Hapoel Jerusalem delivered one of their most impressive performances of the EuroCup season on Wednesday night, defeating Cedevita Olimpija 94:83 in Ljubljana. Despite being without Austin Wiley, Justin Smith, and Nimrod Levi due to injury, the Reds covered for the absences with a brilliant performance from their backcourt: Jared Harper led with a career-high 30 points on excellent shooting (6/8 from the field, 12/14 from the free-throw line), Yovel Zoosman contributed 18 points (including 4/7 from three) and 6 rebounds, while Kadin Carrington added 17 points, giving Hapoel a 25-point lead in the third quarter.

Even the forwards, who had to play center due to the short roster, stepped up—Chris Johnson (11 points, 11 rebounds) and Gabi Chachashvili played key roles, leading Hapoel to victory in the battle for rebounds. The win improves their record to 2-4, placing them in third place in Group B. Next, they’ll face Italian team Venezia in the upcoming EuroCup round, but before that, they will play an away game against Hapoel Gilboa Galil in the fifth round of the Israeli League.

Harper and Carrington added their own three-pointers, and a flawless trip to the free-throw line by Harper put Hapoel ahead 77-55 at the end of the third quarter.

In the final period, Hapoel pushed their lead to 25 points, but Cedevita Olimpija made a late charge, cutting the deficit to 15 with a 3-pointer from Gregor Glas. However, Harper’s 30-point performance ensured Hapoel held onto a comfortable lead, with the final score reading 94-83.
