While Hapoel and Cluj don't have a rich history, having faced each other only about four times, the red team is familiar with two of Cluj's players, Zach Hankins and Mareks Meiers, who played for Hapoel just two seasons ago. The duo formed a strong defensive front line that led Hapoel to the BCL finals and won the State Cup that memorable season. As you can see in the video player below, the pair continues their great collaboration in Romania, with a fantastic assist helping Cluj achieve its first EuroCup victory of the season against Hamburg.

Another player who has faced Hapoel in the past is Saso Salin, who left Tenerife after nearly a decade (eight seasons) with the Spanish team, winning the Champions League twice. Kevin Harvey, who played for Holon last season, also made his debut in Israel against Hapoel. The American forward led a comeback for the purple team in a dramatic game, scoring 26 points and finishing with a performance index of 28.

Harvey, wearing Holon colors, is guarding Carrington, who is making his return to action.

In the last EuroCup round, Hapoel faced PAOK in Thessaloniki and came back from a double-digit deficit to secure their third consecutive win. Jared Harper stood out, breaking the club's EuroCup record for assists in a game, while Justin Smith continued his great form with 18 points. Cluj, meanwhile, achieved its first EuroCup victory of the season last week, crushing Hamburg 103-67, led by Xavier Simpson with 28 points. Hapoel aims to keep winning in the EuroCup and build momentum for the rest of the season.
