Just before we opened another season amid the war, we paused for a moment to remember, appreciate, and honor.
A year ago, we lost part of ourselves. Over the past year, since October 7th until today, the Hapoel Jerusalem family lost 23 of its most dedicated fans, two of whom just a week and a half ago. Throughout last season, we called from here and every arena we visited for the return of Hersh and all the hostages. Hersh, we’re sorry. Sorry we couldn’t succeed. We will continue to call for the release of all hostages, and we will keep fighting for their return.

Sorry. A child of light, love, and peace.
And we will remember. We will remember the 23 fans we lost over the past year, joining the sixteen fans that Hapoel Jerusalem has lost over the years. Soldiers who fell, civilians murdered in acts of terror. Their memory is our legacy. It is part of Hapoel's story—our past, present, and future. We also want to remember the fallen of our guests, the 41 fans of Hapoel Tel Aviv who also fell over the past year; may their memory be blessed.

Also in memory of them, 41 fans of Hapoel Tel Aviv.
They were more than fans; they were, and still are, part of us, and now they will also be part of the arena itself. In this ceremony, Matan Adelson, the club owner, along with representatives of the bereaved families—Beti Daoui, the mother of Roy z"l, a fan of the team who fell on October 31, 2023, and Tzvi Zoosman, the father of Ben z"l, who fell on December 3, 2023—together with Victoria Gur Arye, a representative of the fans, unveiled the memorial wall for the fallen of Hapoel Jerusalem throughout the generations, which will be placed in the arena lobby in their memory.
Forever in our hearts.
