Staff Sergeant Elad Sasson, may his memory be a blessing, was 21 years old and originally from Eilat. He was a fighter in the Egoz unit and fell in the battle for the Kisufim outpost on that terrible day a year ago. Elad was a player and captain of the youth department of the club. Last December, Hapoel sent a delegation of bereaved families to a home game in Belgrade, accompanied by Elad's two brothers, Mor and Roy. Roy shared with us about Elad's heroic battle: "Elad descended from Judea and Samaria, the first to arrive at the Kisufim outpost, to save the soldiers who were stuck there. There wasn't enough ammunition because they didn't come from the base. And there, at the end of the maneuver, during the last maneuver, they came under heavy fire from a terrorist who was on the roof."
