Hapoel won against Galil 75-66 in a game with an offensive second half. Harper scored 18 points.

Hapoel secured their place in the Winner Cup quarterfinals with their previous victory, but tonight (Wednesday) – in their third and final group stage game against Galil Elyon – they aimed to maintain a perfect record in the tournament and finish first in Group C. After an unusual game that featured a particularly poor first half from both teams, the Reds succeeded in their mission, defeating the northern team 75:66 at Pais Arena.

The game opened scattered, with both teams missing under the baskets and several air balls. Freeman scored the first points two minutes into the contest, and Harper immediately answered with a successful play of a basket and a foul, but Goldenberg and Hill put the visitors ahead 8:3. Speedy Smith made only one of his free throws, but Freeman corrected a miss by Carr to set the score at 17:14 for Galil Elyon. Alon called a timeout, and Hapoel – who until then had missed eight times from beyond the arc – returned with three consecutive three-pointers from Morgan, Smith, and Harper, taking a 23:17 lead. Goni Yizrael called a timeout of his own, but Morgan pushed the Jerusalem run to 11-0 with two free throws, and the first half ended with a remarkably low score of 25:17 for the capital's Reds.

Carr responded with a jumper from mid-range and added a basket from beyond the arc after a three-pointer from Dovrat – but the Israeli player answered with a layup, pushing Hapoel to a double-digit lead at 33:22. Johnson made one from the line, and Kerera replied with a three-pointer, while six consecutive free throws from Galil Elyon – one from Carr, three from Shahar Amir, and two from Kerera – brought the visitors closer to 34:31. Zoosman doubled the lead with his second three-pointer of the game, Chachashvili added one of his own, and Yizrael again called a timeout while trailing 40:31. Amir returned with a basket and a foul, Smith got an assist from Harper and spotted a hole under the basket, but a three-pointer from Amir narrowed it to 42:37.
