"I won't make the same mistake twice."
The cup holder presented the new professional manager and coach at a press conference attended by the team's owners and the CEO.
The off season for the 2024/25 season kicked off today as Hapoel introduced the new general manager Dan Shamir and coach Yonatan Alon at a press conference. Also speaking at the press conference were owner Matan Adelson, co-owner Gal Mekel, and CEO Alon Kremer.
Owner Matan Adelson began: "This is an exciting day, a new chapter for this club as we introduce the new general manager Dan Shamir, and Yonatan Alon remains in the role of head coach." In response to a question about Levi Randolph's departure, the owner said: "This is probably the most asked question today. First of all, when I said we plan to compete with Maccabi for players and coaches, I didn't mean it would happen today. We are in the first week of the off season. We plan to compete with them throughout the summer, during the season, and not just this year but in all the coming years. Of course, Levi's departure is a blow to the club. I won't make the same mistake twice; they won this round, we will have to rise from this, reach the next round, and get back at them.'

The new professional manager Dan Shamir said about his joining: 'I have come to a place that is special for me, the situation is quite special, Yonatan and I have worked together in the past, even here at the team. Not long ago, I thought it was a really good time for me to take a breath, but on the other hand, as a coach, anyone who knows me knows that I always had touches in organization and connections, and I think I have a desire to get involved in management. It's a special human combination. When this opportunity arose, I didn't have to think too much.

Yonatan Alon and Gal Mekel were asked about the move from the BCL to the EuroCup during the war. Gal Mekel said: "We don't build the club based on X or Y flights, this year we will have a better medical staff, we will have a performance department we are very proud of, which is starting, and part of this growth is joining the EuroCup whether playing in the country or abroad." Mekel also spoke about the team's Israeli roster: "We are happy and proud of our Israeli roster and want to run with it for years to come. With Noam Dovrat returning from injury, and we believe he will have the year we've been waiting for, with Caden who, God willing, will soon be Israeli, with Nimrod, Or, Gabi, and Zus, we believe this Israeli roster will lead us in the coming years."

CEO Alon Kramer spoke about the season ticket sales campaign launching soon and hosting EuroCup games: "Today we are opening the registration campaign for the personal area in the new ticketing system, and this week we will launch the season ticket campaign for the upcoming season. Especially in the past year, the Hapoel Jerusalem family has shown how much it is there for the fans and the community. Hapoel Jerusalem has provided great moments of excitement in such a complex season, and it is important to us that all the fans join us for the coming season as well. We are undergoing a digital revolution, and it starts with the new ticketing system. The vision is to give fans easier access to tickets and subscriptions and to do everything related to Hapoel Jerusalem through this system. This will be in stages, later also transportation and access to games. In recent weeks, we have examined a large number of options for hosting EuroCup games through nearby and distant countries. It is no secret that there is difficulty for all teams in terms of scheduling and security to play in European countries. We have narrowed down the options to two or three relevant destinations and are considering safety, which is above all, the convenience of access for players, staff, and fans. We want to allow fans to arrive. We are, of course, also in cooperation with other teams in the desire to host together."
