Staying red: Speedy extended for 2 years

Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem is pleased to announce the extension of Speedy Smith's contract for an additional two years. The point guard, who led the team to win two consecutive State Cups, chose to stay with Hapoel despite attracting interest from several teams across Europe.

After signing, Speedy said: ""I won't lie, once the season was over I got a bunch of offers that had my eyes but nothing Captured my heart. I'm happy  to return to a place that I'm proud to call home, I’m excited to have a full season with  Yonatan and the amazing staff, and most of all continue my journey with you, Hapoel fans that always had my back. Head coach Yonatan Alon added: "The fact that Speedy chose to stay here despite receiving higher offers says a lot about him and about us.
