The American Forward/center, Travis Watson joins Hapoel Jerusalem’s roaster and will join the four other foreigners of the club – Timmy Bowers, Adam Haluska, Rahshon Clark and Omar Sneed. The 27 year old American (2.03 m.) arrives in Jerusalem after three years in Italy where he played two years for Armani Jeans Milano and one year in Bologna.
Watson begun his basketball carrier in Oak Hill Academy and in the summer of 1999 moved to Virginia where he played for four seasons. in his last year in collage Watson Averaged 14.3 ppg, 10.4 rpg, and 2.2 apg. In the summer of 2003 he was drafted by Westchester Wildfire (USBL,2rd(11)), played in Philadelphia 76ers summer minicamp and was drafted by Drafted by Rockford Lightning (CBA,3rd(21)) but decided in the end to move to Europe.
His first stop was in Greece where he played for Panionios Athens where he played for two seasons (2003-2005) and than moved to Italy. His first stop was with Climamio Bologna and in the summer of 2006 moved to Armani Jeans Milano. Last season he averaged 11.7 pp, 9.7 rpg, 1.2 apg and 1.9 spg (Euroleague) and 8.6 ppg, 9 rpg (third in the Italian league) and 2 spg.
