Kitchen was born in Jacksonville, Florida. He played college basketball for Iowa Western Community College in 2007/2008. Then he went on to play with Florida State's team for three seasons. He went undrafted at the 2011 NBA Draft.

In 2011 Kitchen signed a contract with Maccabi Rishon Lezion. During his debut professional season he averaged 14.9 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. He led the team to the Israeli Basketball State Cup Final and was named the Israeli Super League All-First Team.

In the summer of 2012 Kitchen played in the NBA Summer League with the Denver Nuggets, but went back to Europe and signed with Panathinaikos Athens of the Greek League. He suffered an injury and was loaned to Cedevita Zagreb of the Croatian League.

On 2013 Kitchen returned to Israel and signed a two-year contract with Hapoel Jerusalem.
