On a cold night in Jerusalem, Hapoel quickly jumped to a 20-10 lead thanks to great play from the starting five. A highlight of the first quarter was when newly signed guard Tywain McKee hit a step back three pointer at the buzzer, giving Hapoel a 26-15 lead going into the second quarter. Hapoel continued their great play through the second quarter scoring both from long range as well as from inside the paint. Just before the half time buzzer, Gaffney was fouled and then hit two free throws, giving Hapoel a 49-33 lead at intermission. In the third quarter, Jones took control scoring seven of Hapoel's first nine points. Hapoel's stellar defense led to two fast break dunks by Eliyahu contributing to Hapoel's 69-45 lead going into the fourth quarter. Two consecutive three pointers by Ariel and a fast break dunk by Smith, which gave Smith a new career high of 27 points in a game, helped Hapoel to seal the win with a final score of 88-58.
