The Lithuanians opened up the game with great energy and took an early 10-2 lead in the first three minutes.  After a Franco timeout, the Reds began to climb back into the game with a dunk by Eliyahu and great play from Smith. At the end of the first quarter Hapoel was only down by 4 with a score of 30-26. Hapoel continued the momentum throughout the second quarter including an alley-oop dunk by Gaffney and several great moves to the hoop by Smith. At halftime Vilna was ahead 48-44. In the third quarter, Hapoel succeeded in tying the game at 54. However, the Lithuanians responded with two back to back three pointers, taking the lead again with a score of 72-69 going into the fourth quarter despite a buzzer beater three pointer by Wright. In the fourth quarter, the Reds continued playing well with another alley-oop by Gaffney, two three pointers from Wright, and a fast-break basket by Eliyahu. Tonight, however, Villna kept their composure and continued to execute their offense, going on to win the game 98-88.
