Hapoel "Bank Yahav" Jerusalem traveled to Lithuania to face Lietkabelis Panevezys in the Eurocup opener and lost 86-72.

Curtis Jerrells continued his great Eurocup form from last season with 23 points, Austin Daye scored 16 points in his Hapoel's Eurocup debut and Rich Howell contributed 15 points from the bench but that was not enough against a tough Lithuanian team who scored 66% from 2pt. Watch the highlights:

Coach Katsikaris said afterwards: "It wasn't an ideal start for us in this competition. Lietkabelis is in better game shape because played more games than us. They took advantage of our mistakes. In the beginning of the season, small details are very important. We missed a lot of shots under the basket. We weren’t strong enough. At halftime we asked for players to play harder, more physical but we weren’t smart enough. The players’ reaction wasn’t correct. We were down, we didn’t execute well. Lietkabelis is in better shape. For us it was only the second official game this season. We can learn a lot from this game and move on".
